Set it up

  • Mark channels 10 m wide and 15 m long, one for every four players.
  • Put attackers in a queue at one end and defenders with the balls at the other.

How it works

  1. The defender passes to the attacker, then steps forward to defend.
  2. The attacker tries to dribble over the defender’s end line and stop the ball on it.
  3. If the defender wins the ball, they can score by dribbling over the attacker’s line.
  4. Players join the back of the other queue so everyone attacks and defends.

Coaching points

  • Attack at speed, then slow down just before the defender to set up your move.
  • Use a feint or change of direction to shift the defender’s weight, then accelerate away.
  • Keep the ball on the side away from the defender.
  • Defender: close down quickly, then get side-on and stay on your feet.
